With attention to all the members of the Central American and the Caribean MS Foroum chapters – Foro Centroamericano y del Caribe de Esclerosis Múltiple
World MS Day 2018 is only one month away! This year’s theme is Research and the campaign is called #bringinguscloser.
World MS Day is the MSIF movement’s flagship global advocacy campaign and it provides a valuable framework for MS organisations around the world to improve quality of life with MS.
This year, we would really value strong and visible involvement from the research and neurological community on social media.
World MS Day will take place on 30 May 2018. On that day, we ask you to support the campaign on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Here’s how:
1) Share a brief post supporting World MS Day
Example: “It’s World MS Day! I’m supporting this year’s #bringinguscloser campaign, celebrating how research is bringing us closer to ending MS. Find out more here! [Link to World MS Day website: https://worldmsday.org/]”
2) Share a personalised post about the #bringinguscloser campaign
Example: “It’s World MS Day! This year’s #bringinguscloser campaign is bringing people involved in MS research closer to people affected by MS to celebrate how research is bringing us closer to ending MS. My work in [insert your work] is bringing me closer to [insert your aim]. Find out more and show your support! [Link to World MS Day website: https://worldmsday.org/]”
3) Share the clinical trials animation
Raise awareness of how MS treatments are developed by sharing our animation about the clinical trial process on web and social media [YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMl2PAi66pE]
4) Create a research profile and share it with your community
Create a research profile (video or written profile) to share what inspires and motivates you to contribute to MS research and what MS research is bringing you closer to. Share it on the web, social media, or even at an event! Written profile template available here: https://worldmsday.org/tools/#toolkit-research-profiles
5) Share this email with people in your network, e.g. colleagues
The #bringinguscloser campaign is all about celebrating how research is bringing us closer to ending MS and it’s an opportunity to bring everyone involved in MS research closer to people affected by MS.
If you have any questions, please email my colleague Natasha Smith (Campaign & Content Manager, MSIF) at email@example.com. Thanks very much!
